Leadgate<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes we revisit places that mean the most<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To <\/a>remember special times and people with a special toast<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A trilby ,my Dads hat of choice often comes to mind<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His polished shoes to compliment making his way to Leadgate club ,I remind<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leadgate school so vivid in my past<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I thought those days forever would last<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bradley chapel lovely place lovely people<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike St Ives church it didn\u2019t have a steeple<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Little familiar shops like Bests the butchers,and mr Jeffrey\u2019s the cobbler<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All the little pubs like Masons and Wheatsheaf and Back of the Shaft where you had a wobbler!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Roxy bingo where with my Mam And Aunty LIzzie I\u2019d wander<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a social gathering,not just somewhere to squander<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sprys pond the playground of my youth<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Making swings climbing trees making dams how unladylike and uncouth !!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Going to Pont woods walking with my Dad and dog<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking at plants and fauna and even under a log<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visiting my Nannas at her little pit bungalow<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Allowing me to play and allowing me to grow<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Calling at my Aunts and having cake<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Always knitting me mittens and cardigans for goodness sake<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Playing with cousins and friends in the usual ways<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh the joy of those happy days<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So many things I remember of my lovely old village<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I thought I\u2019d share my personal spillage<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leadgate you are a big part of my past<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This I know will always last \"\u2764\ufe0f\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n
